229 top donors · 2020–present · Top 80% by dollar amount · Source: WA PDC

Your legislators work for you. But their campaigns are funded by someone else.

This page tracks the 229 largest donors to Washington State legislative races since 2020, accounting for 80% of all campaign dollars. Some of these donors pick a side: they fund Democrats or Republicans because they believe in a platform. Others fund everyone: they give to both parties, in nearly every district, because they need access to whoever wins. When a bill affecting insurance rates, utility costs, or timber regulation hits the floor, these access donors have already funded the campaign of almost every legislator voting on it.

That is not corruption. It is how the system works. But most voters have never seen it.
